Center for Student Professional Development

The Center for Student Professional Development helps connect employers and students for internship opportunities.

Most graduate programs do not require internships for credit. Other graduate degree programs have elective credits that may be fulfilled by an internship, but the approval process for internships must go through your academic adviser and faculty adviser, with final approval by the associate dean of Graduate Studies.

For detailed information, please refer to the Graduate Internship Policies or contact the Office of Graduate Studies.

Any graduate student can pursue a non-credit internship and no approval is required. This type of work experience can be invaluable for those changing fields or exploring employment options. Internships can and often lead to employment opportunities upon graduation.

The process of applying for an internship is similar to applying for a job. You should search for current opportunities in your industry of interest, prepare your resume and submit an application.

Current internship opportunities can be found on most job search sites, company websites and through Handshake.
